Using oil or acrylic, I paint the world through my imagination and mood at the time; impressionistic and romantic to more creative and abstract works, sold as originals or prints.
Hi there and welcome!
Deciding in my youth that art was for me I studied at Rotherham Art College, which gave me the grounding to pursue my passion further, experimenting with the various styles that I had become aware of and studying at the same time the techniques of the old masters. I remember buying a book by Linford Donovan and realized individuality matters, not copying.
I use oil, acrylic and pastels in my work, applied by brush, palette knife or even fingers.
Boards and canvas should always be properly prepared and only the best materials will do. I also supply limited edition prints of my work where quality also has to be high.
My paintings vary from impressionistic and romantic to the more creative and abstract, it all depends on my mood at the time.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Regards,
Alan Roddis
