My practice is concerned with notions of and responses to memory with specific reference to place time experience and dream and forms a record of the constantly shifting and multi-layered nature of memory attempting to capture the elusive impressions on the senses of sight sound smell and touch of those moments of intense and definitive experience that are the essence of memory
My practice includes drawings paintings prints photographs artists books and video and encompasses chance intuition and spontaneity.
I am currently researching and exploring the notions and conventions of print and its presentation and investigating the boundaries between print sculpture and artists books.
I have taught in adult education for over 25 years and hold workshops in printmaking (more environmentally-friendly and less-toxic techniques) drawing and painting and life drawing.
I am a member of Sheffield Hallam Space and Place Research Group and a Committee Member of Sheffield Printmakers
