My interest in painting began in my early childhood and in my early working years I pursued a career in graphic design and art teaching only going back to painting in my later years.
I like to experiment with all media but my main interest is watercolour on gesso often combined with collage. In my landscape work I like to conjure up an atmosphere of quiet serenity whereas with my more prosaic subjects I try to capture the poignancy of neglect and dereliction.
I am a member of Peak District Artisans and I have sold my work in the UK, France, Germany and America. For the last few years my work has been exhibited with the Royal Institute of Paintings in Watercolour in the Mall Galleries London.
