E J Lazenby

Figurative and painterly artwork, photography with an artistic and creative flair, photo manipulations straight out of Tolkien genre. Self confessed horse obsessive…

My art journey started with pet portraits back in 1992, fresh from my Fine Art degree at Newcastle University…. Horses have always been a muse in my work which I have referenced through my own photography. The camera has become more important as my voice, harnessed with the paintbrush, they blend and converse together creating a unique marriage between physical and digital, both working towards the same goal.

The Medieval and Romantic are an increasing influence, also the work of the Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood, creating narrative and sumptuous details with both the pigment and the pixel. I am finding myself and my soul more and more in my work, aided by daughter, an able model and partner in crime.
