Sue Evans

I make turned wooden pots and vases, modern and simple in shape, plus a few different pieces.

I ventured into woodturning since retiring. It’s an absorbing pleasure to transform blocks of native hardwoods into decorative, useful objects. Working from home on a lathe, I mainly turn small pots with finger-hole lids and single stem vases to hold real or artificial flowers, making simple shapes with satin finishes to produce clean lines. Pale woods like sycamore suit the designs, but I can’t resist the interest spalted woods bring to the pieces.
