Bryan Munsey

So much wood to reclaim and so little time. The joy of cutting into new timber still spurs me on.

I’ve now been turning for more than 30 years and the pleasure I get from reclaiming South Yorkshire timber means that I still have the enthusiasm for what I do. I’ve recently acquired some newly felled laburnum, one of my favourite woods. That has all been rough turned and I now have to wait for a year for it to season before I can finish turning it. A mixture of bowls and vases with fantastic colours and graining will be the result.

My work is all carried out in a workshop at the back of my house and woodturning remains as one of my most interesting hobbies. I also enjoy painting and drawing, and attend a class to improve my skills, as well as reading.
