Bryan Munsey

Inspired by the patterns in reclaimed South Yorkshire timber, I turn creative pieces which are beautiful to display and show my love of the medium.

As a socialist artist I care about the environment. Nothing can match the beauty of well managed trees living out their natural life. We should value them wherever they are and adapt to any problems they may cause. When they need felling, for reasons of safety, or reach the end of their natural life, that is the time to give them a second opportunity to show the beauty of the wood.

I have now been providing that opportunity with reclaimed South Yorkshire timber for 30 years. I still enjoy the variety of grain, colour and shape that turns a piece of wood into an object of desire.
Whether they are used, or simply displayed, all my pieces are individually styled to make to best use of the timber.
