Many years ago I went to art school in Sheffield to study painting. However, after I left I barely picked up a paint brush again although I never stopped ‘painting in my head’. I did instead run a sculpture business in London and internationally for 16 years but in 2015, I moved to southern Italy. There, I finally started painting again, inspired by the astonishing mediterranean light and rich colour. But, home is where the heart is and I returned back to Sheffield and the landscape of the Peak District that I love; to the weather, the colour and the seasons, all of which keep me passionate and painting. As an artist I am influenced by the enduring English landscape tradition.
