James Green

Linocuts and screen-prints; rural/suburban/urban landscapes, UK wildlife and donkey compositions.

I am an artist and printmaker and I specialise in linocuts and screen-prints. My subjects are generally UK wildlife, landscapes and a fair few donkeys. As well as the subject matter, I am inspired by the limitations of the printing media, and the challenges they pose.

Aside from my own personal artwork I’ve also been commissioned to produce print work for Abbeydale Brewery, Tramlines Festival, Sheffield Children’s Festival, Herd Of Sheffield and The Hepworth Wakefield.

I studied fine art at Sheffield Hallam University 1992-95. I have been making prints for around fourteen years now, full-time for the last seven. I run printing workshops, occasionally write about print, and recently took part in the Portrait and Landscape Artist Of The Year TV shows.
