My work is currently influenced by my interest in the human form through life drawings and clothing the body.
I look for an interaction between paper and cloth using textile and fine art techniques. The fascinating textural qualities produced by manipulating, layering, painting and stitching the fabric and paper are endlessly explored.
Drawing the human figure has interested me since my teenage years at Art College. The initial studies are worked into with a variety of techniques and materials, these don’t always work, but by thinking on paper ideas emerge as I search for mediums that connect with me and are also suited to the work.
The final pieces, often using fragmented images take several guises, wall panels, clothing forms, and creative book forms constructed by engineering the paper in a variety of ways.
