Krishna Alageswaran

I work with  clay to create sculpture and wheel thrown forms in small families. My work celebrates this wonderful visual and tactile world.

Working with clay has fascinated me for over thirty years. I continue to explore the possibilities of the medium through sculpture and functional objects. Decoration and colour are strong elements in my work. The themes of my work are influenced by the architecture, archaeology, geology and paintings. The textured and patterned surfaces of the work evoke urban and organic decay and weathering, perhaps symbolic of our fleeting time on this planet. Although my work is informed by the visual and tactile world it is also tempered by the imagination.
