Lizzy Alageswaran

I create paintings and willow, fabric and tissue sculptures inspired by local and dream landscapes and reflections on our wishes and treasures.

My paintings are generally inspired by my internal life of dreams, wishes and desires, set against a backdrop of the landscapes of the Peak, mountains and coastline. I sketch in acrylic but finish work in oils, which gives me the depth and subtlety of colour I seek.

I also create willow, tissue and fabric sculptures for installations and festival s which are usually fun interactive explorations of how as individuals and as a society we choose what will make us happy and what we value most.

I love making these structures with people and also enjoy sharing other creative techniques such as mosaic and green willow.
