Lyn Carruthers

I work in mixed media and enjoy investigating and using natural and recycled materials. My inspiration for work and colour palette often comes from nature.

I work in mixed media. My inspiration is often nature or natural processes. I enjoy work that encourages me to observe carefully what is around me and to stay in the ‘here and now’.

Engaged practice projects have included a two week mini-residency at the Site Gallery, Sheffield. I enjoy working collaboratively to create chants and songs developed out of my artistic practice which include several ‘knitting chants’. I am currently exploring creative uses of wood bark, wire and wool. I exhibit and sell originals and reproductions of my work in pastels (cards and prints) in my studio and through the Exchange Place Studios Pop Up Shop.

I run creative workshops and take commissions for bespoke cards. I am originally from Sunderland.
