Red earthenware clay has travelled from the mother rock. Levigated by glaciers, rivers and streams the detritus it collects on the journey provides its rich colour, depth and flexibility.
Victoria’s hand thrown tableware is a meditation on her history traveling and living between New Zealand, North America and the UK.
Using red earthenware, slip and the domestic ceramic form, she explores her relationship to home. She attempts to capture stories and the glance of a memory in pieces that sit at the heart of our homes and family traditions.
