I have learned my craft over a number of years of fabulous classes in London and Sheffield with inspiring tutors and now have my own small studio from which I make and tutor myself.
I work in high fired stoneware and make jugs, mugs and bowls for the house using coloured slips and sgraffito decoration. I have been able to give full range to my love of colour and surface decoration with the garden fountains which use both hand build and throwing techniques with loads of opportunity for clay relief embellishment and a variety of slip decoration.
I draw inspiration from other makers,my garden, lino cuts, old china patterns and art. Creative challenges like the “strange/fruit bowl” at Potfest 2018 and from Art in the Garden 201,7 a continuing collaboration with Sheffield wood turner, Sue Evans, keep my work changing and developing.
