Judith Webster

My work starts with sketches and drawings then moves towards abstraction, predominantly landscape and still life. Drawings, paintings, prints, cards and handmade books on sale.
For me, one main source of inspiration is landscape, urban and rural, in the UK and further afield. I try, through sketching, painting and printmaking to use the results to illustrate my emotional responses to particular places. Organic forms, too, are a big influence, particularly trees and plants.
I love sketching outdoors using different media – pen and ink, soluble graphite, charcoal, pastels, watercolour – often incorporating collage with hand painted or printed papers. My sketchbooks will be on view.
I have exhibited at the Ferens Open Exhibition, Hull, the Cooper Gallery , Barnsley and the Harley Gallery, Welbeck.
