Denise Wrightson

Landscape paintings inspired by the Peak District. Flower paintings inspired by their utter beauty.
20% off all work during Open Up Sheffield.

Having been to art school many years ago and having taken a rather lengthy hiatus from painting thereafter, I resumed my practice (sporadically) when I went to live in Italy in 2015. I began painting full time in 2018 when I returned, not to London where I had lived and worked for 30+ years but to Sheffield where I had spent my art school years. You could say that I have come full circle. I have always used paint as my medium of choice and these days I work on watercolour paper and wooden panels in professional grade acrylic paint. My first love was always the landscape and our Peak District has supplied abundant material and even more inspiration for this obsession. Latterly, having grown in to an equally obsessive gardener I find myself drawn to flowers. Beauty is the constant thread. I paint for myself and for you ..
