Lizzy Alageswaran

Lizzy Alageswaran

I paint portraits of local people and landscapes, and often a combination of both, usually in oil paints, exploring our relationship with the natural world.

I have been a community artist, art tutor and painter since 1986, and enjoy teaching and sharing my skills as well as creating my own work. I paint mainly in oil paints on canvas for the subtlety and vibrance of colour as well as the feel of the paint. I have been exploring the same theme of our relationship with the natural world for some time in different media, and currently am combining my love of portrait painting and landscapes, especially the fragile ecosystems which require our care. I will be showing my sketches and finished works in my studio which I share with ceramicist Krishna Alageswaran, in our lovely studio and workshop.
