Suzanne Hale

My studio practice explores nostalgia, memory and the natural world. Using paint, mixed media, textiles, collage, sculpture, boxed art and objects.

I am interested in combining personal memories with elements of the natural world. I like to explore scale and composition, juxtaposing the small and large together. I am interested in nostalgia, and use old photographs and memorabilia to create new realities and perspectives. I combine and layer memory within contemporary experiences in the form of boxed art, photographs, drawings, paintings, textile art and text. I will be showcasing a wide range of work, some complete, some work in progress and also explorative new work, where I have been developing an abstract approach through paint and mixed media. There will be a free mini collage drop-in happening each day as well.
