Linda Doughty

My paintings are inspired by landscape and nature, as well as fantasy and my imagination.

Using oils, acrylics and pen, and occasionally collage, I work from sketches and memory, loosely interpreting the landscape or subject with spontaneous strokes. Often experimenting with colour and various layers, my paintings tend towards semi-abstraction.

Whilst many of my paintings are on canvas, some are on wooden panels, as I love the smoothness of the wood.

In recent months I have also begun to work on small canvases. Although originally many were similar in technique and style to my larger paintings, I’ve started using tiny brush strokes and adding more detail. A process that I’m enjoying and hoping to explore further.
