I work in my studio in Oughtibridge. I use acrylics, oils and sometimes multimedia to produce my pictures. My influences include Cezanne, Hockney and Hodgkin.
I taught art for many years across 3 schools, then became a headteacher in1995. I retired in 2010 and returned cautiously to my own creative work again.
I produce semi-realistic landscapes based on visits to Derbyshire hills and also local scenic areas around Bradfield and other nearby places.
My studio overlooks a lovely pond with ducks and a heron. This view is a source of inspiration.
I also work using fabrics, multimedia to produce collage pictures. I have exhibited in recent years at the Great Sheffield Art Show, Art in the Gardens as well as having some work in Derbyshire galleries. More recently I have also worked with pastels.
This will be my 4th Openup event and I have really enjoyed my previous sessions, meeting people and discussing Art.
I also take commissions and offer lessons in painting and drawing to local people.
