Gemma Lock

Polymer clay and mixed media, focusing on developing millefiori canes to cover animal structures. I also make jewellery and steampunkery. Glass fusion inspired by nature.

I have been enjoying working with polymer clay for several years now. I started making Steampunk animals, inspired by Christi Friesen. More recently I have been making millefiori cane jewellery, such as the work by Donna Kato. Attending the British Polymer Clay Guild 20th Anniversary weekend event has inspired me to use many different techniques such as texturing. It was here that I was taught to make the robin or lighthouse that I will be offering as a workshop in my studio.

I also enjoy glass fusion which I am inspired by nature to create.

I have a piece in the Great Sheffield Art Show 2017, and the Cast a Light exhibition at Chapel walk.
