Textile & mixed media artist using both hand and machine stitch, felting and embellishment to create wall art, greeting cards, gifts, garments and accessories.
The world around me provides inspiration, especially time spent in my garden and the Peak District. Sometimes my work will even include a leaf or some wool rescued from barbed wire. A passionate up-cycler, I collect and keep small pieces to use again.
I still use the sewing machine I was given at 16, which I used to study applied textiles. My specialist study involved batik and dying which I still use, but use a wide variety of textile art materials and techniques.
As a qualified teacher, I love to pass on creative stitch and art skills to others, encouraging play and experimentation in both workshops and individual tuition. I also create creative kits to facilitate creative journeys.
A member of the Society for Embroidered Work as well as local quilting and creative groups I love to both be inspired by and inspire others.
