Jude Shore

Inspired by the natural world I use felt making and free drawn machine embroidery to make decorative and functional pieces for interiors or fashion accessories.

I take inspiration from the world around me in particular the rapidly changing weather, light and colours of the Peak District as the seasons change and coastal walks in Norfolk.

I use wet and needle felting techniques to create unique surfaces with areas of hand and free machine embroidery adding texture and detail. I like to work with natural fabrics and fibres and enjoy the challenge of reusing and recycling discarded scraps that would otherwise go to waste. Many the fabrics and fibres I use have been hand dyed or coloured to add individuality to each piece.

I make a range of decorative and functional items for interiors or fashion accessories. Recent work includes a series of landscapes inspired by the changing seasons in the Peak District.

I teach courses and workshops in felt making, embroidery and creative bookmaking.
