I create paintings and drawings inspired by the natural world and our place in it. I love to let colour sing, capture light and use playful marks. I spend time outside soaking up the landscape whilst responding through drawing. The process is contemplative and restorative in itself. Sitting quietly in a landscape, observing slowly I make deeper connections with the place and sometimes its wildlife. These works and the studio work that follows are created with a combination of water based media including watercolours and inks.
My past has led me through many art disciplines; a degree in Embroidery, establishing and running a business in eco paints and murals and teaching painting and drawing to adults as a senior tutor within a continuing education service. Now as a freelance tutor I continue to run painting and drawing courses, workshops and painting holidays for adults in a wide variety of media.
