Brian Robinson

Inspiration for my new collection of work is taken from a quote by John Muir – ‘Come to the woods for here is rest’

Over the past couple of years Brian made the decision to follow a new artistic direction with both his medium and subject matter used. Having previously worked in pure watercolour, painting award winning studies of derelict old vehicles he is now finding a new enthusiasm for working mostly with acrylics, and focusing on certain aspects of the landscape which in particular include quiet places with trees influenced by the quote from John Muir ‘Come to the woods for here is rest’

His paintings are based on walks in some of the beautiful areas of our National Parks and the challenge to himself is to find ways of not only interpreting the location but to take it away from the literal and yet still capture that sense of place and peace.

For many years he has exhibited with The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in the Mall Galleries London.
