I am in my 84th year and still making my own art work. My work over time reflects my evolutionary journey as an artist, starting with my early encounter with Abstract Expressionism in the 60s and enrolling for classes at NYU. Later, on my return to the UK, I studied Painting / Printmaking at Sheffield Collage of Art and later trained as an Art Therapist at University of Sheffield. I practiced in the NHS and taught on the Post Graduate Course.
For many years I was a member of the Portland Works Artists’ Studios and participated in many Open Up Sheffield exhibitions. For me, making art is about being engaged in a creative process and experimenting with different materials to keep the work fresh and to keep me going.
