Kay Aitch
I am a mixed media artist, presently focusing on paper pulp work along with greenwood craft – inspired by earth, fire, air and water.
During the past year I have been learning greenwood craft skills at Ecclesall Woods and this is now significantly influencing my work – also I have had more opportunity to walk the land, particularly in the Peak District, where I have been inspired by connecting with the Elements of Nature. Being influenced by the outdoors I am intending to be outside for Open Up Sheffield and will therefore be largely showing my 3D work, utilising paper pulp, wood, garden clay and re-used objects. The regenerative power of nature is my ongoing theme as I develop a series of pieces which explore my relationship with the earth in a personal and local sense, but inevitably also in context of our present global situation.
