Lizzy Alageswaran

I paint narrative and dream images, portraits and landscapes, and also create large puppets and decorative items in textiles.

This year I am enjoying painting portraits, and also looking for ways to respond to the challenges facing this generation. My ‘dreamscape’ paintings explore the theme of journeys, often uncertain and unguided. Decision making is also a recurrent theme, and I create textile characters to explore how we decide our priorities and make decisions.

I teach painting and drawing and life drawing for the WEA and enjoy working collaboratively with communities and other artists. I also paint and create landscapes in textiles.
