Mark Beachell

I have a highly diverse multidisciplinary practice which ranges from Renaissance painting techniques through to working with satellite data and unique processes.

I have a very diverse practice which ranges from traditional painting and sculpture techniques through to using cutting edge processes. I studied Art history at Cambridge where I learnt old master techniques. I followed this with a masters in contemporary fine art at Hallam. The result is that I specialise in painting in the renaissance tradition of egg tempera but am equally at home making art from satellite data and chemistry!

The work I exhibit here will emphasise my current project of representing landscape through a process of 3D printing, sculpting and casting techniques with surfaces “painted” through chemically eroded metals. The result of these processes is a representation of landscape topography that is readily accessible and easy on the eye.
