Sarah Villeneau

Abstract organic handbuilt ceramic vessel forms and sculptures fired to stoneware in an electric kiln, inspired by natural form.

Sarah is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and Design Nation and exhibits nationally and internationally. She creates abstract organic ceramic vessel forms and more visceral sculptures, as well as a range of jewellery. Her work is experimental and pushes the boundaries of the discipline. She is currently making a range of sound sculptures and experimenting with different materials incorporated into the clay. She is influenced by the body and its functions as well as the textures, colours and forms of the natural world. She sometimes does workshops, is a coach for visual artists and is a co-founder and member of the women’s sculpture collective Material Voice.
