Steve Elliott

Pastel paintings of the Derbyshire landscape in a variety of sizes and styles ranging from naturalistic to semi-abstract.

Award winning pastel paintings capturing the spirit and atmosphere of the Peak District landscape. Open moorlands, dramatic skylines, shady woodlands and wild places provide rich sources of inspiration for light-filled paintings.

I walk local woods and nearby hills most days, year round, observing, absorbing and recording seasonal changes. In the studio I combine pastel with other media, looking for visual harmonies in a natural world undergoing dramatic change, and aiming to create expressive images that will resonate with the viewer.

Original artwork, prints and cards are for sale at art fairs and group exhibitions around the region, and at the artist’s home and studio (by appointment at times outside Open Studios) where visitors are very welcome to browse with no pressure to buy.

An active, exhibiting member of Peak District Artisans, a multi-disciplinary artists and makers collectives based in the Peak District.
