Susie Hinchliffe

Mainly working in pastels & acrylics; painting scenes and nature of Peak District in all it’s glory & coastal Cornwall; ranging from intense to peaceful.

I am 69,and live with my husband on a farm bordering the Peak District,

I started painting again at a local art group 6 years ago and rediscovered a passion for art. Education wise, I obtained A levels in Art, Zoology and Botany many years ago. I grew up in coastal Dorset.

I have developed a passion for painting, experimenting with watercolour, pastels, acrylics and mixed media, using a variety of materials.

My greatest influence is the scenery around us in the Peaks and coastal Dorset and Cornwall.
I love painting ‘en plein air’ in all weathers – be it in the car (pastels, charcoal, sketching) or outdoors with watercolour and acrylics. There is always something to captivate and inspire.

When outdoors the atmosphere, light and weather conditions spur me on to try to paint ‘the moment’. It is a world to get lost in.
