Wayne Sealey

I have an instinctive connection with wood art, discovering natural
shapes/fusions within branches, stems and roots and work with the wood to create usable objects.

I began working with wood 16 years ago and quickly developed a passion
for the natural beauty, details, shapes and fusions found in trees and
shrubs. I source reclaimed wood and collect burr, spalted, drift and
bog. I look for objects and details already present in the wood and
work to enhance it further. I create a variety of pieces including
bowls, tealights, lamps etc and have commissioned work for larger work
like benches, tables, sheds.

I gain a lot of inspiration and satisfaction from creating pieces out
of something a lot call waste. Patience is important to gain the most
out of the wood and it is a rewarding result producing items for the
home out of which are also beautiful, each one individual. The tools I
predominantly work with are: angle grinders, various arbotech tools,
and sanders.
