My pieces are hand built. Layers of glazes, oxides, coloured slips, under glazes and clay bodies achieve a varied colourful surface. All influenced by natural elements.

With all my work colour and form are of equal importance to me. I wish to create a whole piece of which the colour must be part of the form/piece, both inside and out. I try not to work in a completely directed way, thus allowing the material to dictate where the feel of the work will go. The outcome of this will usually determine the colour and shapes/patterns used.

My work is influenced by natural formations, rock, shells and music. New work includes a variety of clay bodies and textured surfaces using lino cuts and carving.

My studio will be open 11am – 5pm for visits on the following days:

My studio is at the bottom of my garden which is accessed by several concrete steps, which would not be possible by wheelchair.
