Elizabeth Towning

I’m a new artist exploring painting, sketching and drawing in a range of mediums. I produce striking pictures and portraits inspired by the natural world.

I capture scenes quickly and with energy often using a vibrant palette to create bold, dramatic pictures focusing on natural forms using contrast and colour. I spend a lot of time working on developing my drawing skills both at life drawing and in daily life and carry my sketchbook everywhere. I particularly enjoy using charcoal, watercolours and acrylic but work with many different media.

I started creating art in June 2024 after attending a local art class and then progressed onto more specialised classes and courses. I have had several pictures selected to be exhibited in local galleries and exhibitions and was a finalist in a People’s Choice award. One of my pictures has been used on the front cover of a publication. My work, including sketchbooks and finished pictures – showing my progress over the last 2 years, will be on display and for sale in my studio.
