Johnny Tyson

I make contemporary furniture from reclaimed wood, combining mid-century style with sustainable craft. I’ll be making stools – come see the process and browse one-off pieces.

I’m a cabinetmaker working with reclaimed wood to create one-off pieces that feel timeless, useful and full of character. Expect to see sideboards, tables, chairs and stools — all handmade in my Sheffield workshop using traditional joinery and a lot of care.

During Open Up 2026 I’ll be making and finishing a new batch of Japanese-inspired stools, so you’ll be able to see the process in action — from planing and fitting to final touches. There’ll also be other furniture for sale; smaller pieces like chopping boards and a few restored vintage finds.

If you like design, tools, music, or the smell of freshly planed wood, come say hello.
