Kate Ackroyd Cooke

I make contemporary functional ceramics and sculptures inspired by nature and the texture and colours of the gritstone edges of the Peak District. You can visit my lovely garden and pottery studio.
My pottery studio is in my garden and I’m located in leafy Nether Edge, surrounded by beautiful parks and close to cafes and other Open Up artists. I make functional pottery on a potter’s wheel, slowly in small batches and design pottery intuitively. I hope that each piece can connect you to a slower way of being and the natural world that inspires the textures and glazes I use.
I will have a selection of pottery for sale and will run 2 hand-building workshops over the weekend – these will be available to book on my website. I hope you can join me to enjoy the garden and talk about all things clay!
