Lizzy Alageswaran

I paint mountain and fragile landscapes, often with a guardian or Naiad, exploring our relationship with the natural world.
I paint mainly in oil on canvas for the subtlety and vibrance of colour as well as the feel of the paint and surface. I am exploring our relationship with the natural world, combining my love of portrait painting and landscapes, especially the fragile ecosystems which require our care, I love painting our mountain mosses and plants such as Bog Cotton, Bog Bean, Bladderwort and Sundew and moorland birds such as Lapwings and Skylarks.
I have been a community artist, art tutor and painter since 1986, and enjoy teaching and sharing my skills as well as creating my own work. I will be showing my sketches and finished works in my studio which I share with ceramicist Krishna Alageswaran, in our lovely studio and workshop in Walkley.
Our studio is just by the 95 bus stop, close by other local artists, with lots of cafes and bakeries nearby.
