Lyn Littlewood

I paint loosely in watercolour, pastels and collage, enjoying landscapes and flowers. My paintings are rich and vibrant in colour, mostly inspired by my wonderful surroundings.
My lifelong love of drawing led me straight from school to an arts degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. I specialised in mixed media textiles enchanted by the richness and diversity of the medium and its possibilities to create with colour and texture. I went on to teach for many years.
I live close to Stanage Edge where I am incredibly fortunate to be constantly surrounded by the explosive visual changes in the beautiful landscape. This inspires me daily to record the wonderful changing palettes of light and texture spread before my eyes. The need to express the immediate joy and exuberance of shapes and colours around me led to my exploring other mediums such as pastels, watercolour and collage. This is where I found my true self and have been enjoying this glorious means of expression for many years.
