Quirky Metals

Our jewellery and giftware is handcrafted in pewter in a small Meersbrook workshop using traditional techniques. Inspiration is taken from the natural world.
After graduating from Hallam University in 1989, with degrees in Metalwork and Jewellery we (Jim and Laura Stringer) both worked in Sheffield in both the metal industry and in education.
In 2014 we decided to set up our workshop to make our own work. Our designs had received awards from The Worshipful Company of Pewterers and this encouraged us to become self employed.
Our giftware and jewellery takes inspiration from our surroundings including the natural world and is produced using traditional techniques including spinning, hammering, embossing and casting.
Designs are quirky with stag beetles, bees, dragonflies & sardine designs making them modern day collectibles.
We have over 30 years experience working in Sheffield and have forged strong ties with the manufacturing industry.
We are always happy to take on bespoke projects and commissions. Our workshop is always open.
