Sarah Langridge

An amateur potter who uses hand building techniques to create stoneware pots and vessels for the home and garden. I am interested in surface texture and glazing that reflects the natural landscape.
I have recently rediscovered my passion for pottery after a career in clinical and medical research management. I am an active member of the local Walkley Pottery where I attend a weekly session and have met a lovely community of supportive fellow artists.
I am lucky to have a creative space within my home in Walkley where I develop my stoneware pottery pieces. I am developing a keen interest in surface decoration and texture using natural materials found in the landscape such as bark, rocks, stones, soils and seed heads. I am experimenting with layering glazes and slips to enhance and decorate my work.
During open studios I will be displaying my work in both my home and garden ; weather permitting, alongside two of my fellow Walkley Pottery colleagues. I will have a range of pieces for sale and look forward to meeting and chatting with you about the creative pottery process.
