Sheridon Davies

I enjoy creating paintings and digital images with a strong narrative which feature landscapes, memorable buildings and classic cars from the golden period of motoring.

Art has always been an essential part of my life. Drawing in the back of school exercise books led to studying graphic illustration at Liverpool and Birmingham Art Colleges in the 1960’s.

After college I turned freelance with commissions for London publishing houses and Fleet Street. My work appeared in publications ranging from The Sunday Times to Look-In magazine.

In the 1980’s I was a director in a creative graphics studio. My passion for painting took off in 2000, starting off with images which included classic car paintings with a story within them. I love taking photographs, using them to set the cars and people within a period landscape.

Now I’m concentrating on townscapes, seascapes and landscapes. I like to use a wide range of mark making materials that help make the images dynamic and energetic. Creative influences include David Hockney, the Impressionists, Stanley Spencer and George Bellows.
