Tanya Wells

I make handwoven items using beautiful quality yarns. The colours I use are influenced by the Yorkshire countryside, winter sunrises and summer evenings. You can visit my courtyard studio.
My studio is situated in a lovely little courtyard in Broomhill close to the beautiful Botanical Gardens and a number of cafes. I work on several different hand looms with carefully selected high quality yarns produced by companies that care about the environmental issues around textiles, as well as caring about the people and animals that help to create the lovely yarns. The colours that I use are influenced by the Yorkshire countryside – sometimes inspiring bright pieces, other times gentle peaceful ones. I make wraps, which are great for: keeping warm in the winter, travelling, and also to throw over your shoulders in the summer. I also make other items like scarves, baby blankets and cushions.
My studio is small, as the looms take up a good deal of space, but I can happily welcome 2-3 people at a time. Feel free to come and have a chat.
