My artwork is representational, mainly linocut printmaking, but including other print methods, and painting and drawing. The images are inspired by adventure and being in the outdoors, depicting mountains, rocks, and water, from inland to coastal landscapes. Many show rugged and rocky landscapes, picking out the colours and shapes of stone, the terrain, paths, and edges.
The depictions of the rocks are topographically accurate, so that as well as capturing the spirit and character of the place, it is possible for climbers to pick out a route and rock or landscape features are recognisable within my artwork.
My work has been exhibited throughout the UK, as well as with the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and in the prestigious New Light Art Prize. Prizes include; North Lincolnshire Print Open 2019, AIR Arts Prize Derby Print Open 2018, and Derbyshire Open Art Exhibition 2017.
