STUDIO GROUP APPLICATION

Groups of up to 8 artists in a single space or building can join Open Up Sheffield as a Studio Group.

As a studio group you will have:

  • A Group Profile listing in the colour brochure, inviting people to visit you
  • A year-round studio group listing on the website
  • Access to publicity materials to promote the event
  • Membership of Open Up Sheffield for each listed artist

The size of your Group Profile image depends on the number in the Studio Group, as follows:

Application fees

  • 6 – 8 artists: full A5 page profile image – £560
  • 5 – 6 artists: three quarter A5 page profile image – £420
  • 3 – 4 artists: half A5 page profile image – £280
  • 2 artists: quarter A5 page profile image – £140

The Open Up festival event takes place over five days with opening hours 11am to 5pm. There is an expectation that studio groups will be open during all five days unless explicitly stated on the website and in the brochure profile image and that the majority of artists within a group should be open on each day listed in the profile image.

Individual artists within a group should post on their own social media, website and on any group pages if they are not planning to be open on each day.

Group Profile artwork and format

Open Up will prepare your Group Profile for you from the details you provide on the form below, however, if you wish to create your own artwork, please let us know and email your artwork to applications@openupsheffield.co.uk by 9am 16th February 2026.

You should still complete the form and include artists’ images which we will need for our social media.

Please note this year the brochure format is PORTRAIT not landscape. The dimensions are:

  • Full A5 page Portrait: 148.5mm wide X 210mm high
  • Half A5 page Landscape: 132.5mm wide X 93mm high
  • Three quarter page: 132.5mm wide X 139.5 high
  • Quarter A5 page Portrait: 62.5mm wide X 93mm high

Artwork should be supplied as a TIFF, JPEG or EPS, Resolution: Minimum 300dpi, Colour: CMYK, and should contain:

  • The names of all artists participating
  • An image of each artist’s work. For guidance on preparing images for our designers, please follow this link (opens a new window).
  • A social media handle or website for each artist if you wish
  • The full address of the studio (including What3Words if the entrance is difficult to find)
  • The studio website or one social media address
  • The Studio Group/Building contact phone number and /or email address, if different from the main contact on the form below.
  • Your Studio Group open dates. NB Your Studio Group opening hours will be assumed to be 11am and 5pm unless otherwise stated.

Studio Group members – up to 8 allowed in any A5 full page advert. Individual email addresses are required in order to communicate details of the event. These will also be added to the mailing list in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Note: the form does not “save as you go” so it is wise to gather and read all the information needed before you complete the form,  member benefits and obligations and T&Cs.

Payment: You will need your debit card/bank details to make payment. Your application will not be complete without payment.

Acceptance of your application is at the discretion of the Committee. If your application is declined the fee will be refunded in full.
