Meyrick Quincey

I make abstract and semi-abstract carvings in stone and wood. The carvings can reflect natural forms, aboriginal carvings or the work of 20th century sculptors.
I carve abstract and semi-abstract objects/forms in stone and wood. Although the pieces are abstract, they often echo monumental natural forms and landscape. I enjoy working with natural materials and their inherent variability often influences the final outcomes. I take inspiration from the British sculptors of the 20th century; Moore, Hepworth and Skeaping as well as aboriginal carvings from North America and Australasia.
