Groups of up to 8 artists in a single space or building can join Open Up Sheffield as a Studio Group.

As a studio group you will have:

  • An advert listing in the brochure
  • A year-round studio group listing on the website
  • Access to publicity materials to promote the event
  • Membership of Open Up Sheffield

You will need to place an advert in our colour brochure, inviting people to visit you. The size of your advert depends on the number in the Studio Group, as follows:

Application fees

  • 5-8 artists: full A5 page advert – £465
  • 3-4 artists: half A5 page advert – £235
  • 2 artists: quarter A5 page advert – £120

The Open Up festival event takes place over five days with opening hours 11am to 5pm. There is an expectation that studio groups will be open during all five days unless explicitly stated in the brochure advert. Individual artists within a group should post on their own social media, website and on any group pages if they are not planning to be open on each day; there is an expectation that the majority of artists within a group should be open on each day listed in the advert.

Advert artwork content and format

The advert is required to have:

  • The names of all artists participating
  • An image of each artist’s work
  • The full address of the studio
  • The studio website or one social media address
  • A contact phone number or email address
  • The dates open
  • The opening hours 11am and 5pm

A maximum of 8 artists per A5 brochure page advert are allowed. If more than 8 artists are participating a further advert sized as above needs to be taken out.

Advert artwork should be supplied as pdf or jpg at 300dpi full size.

Advert artwork dimensions:

  • Full page 19 x 13cm landscape
  • Half page 9 x 13cm portrait
  • Quarter page 9 x 6cm landscape

Studio Group members – up to 8 allowed in any A5 full page advert. Individual email addresses are required in order to communicate details of the event. These will also be added to the mailing list in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Note: the form does not “save as you go” so it is wise to gather and read all the information needed before you complete the form, including Artists’ Profile Guidance, correctly sized images, member benefits and obligations and T&Cs.

Payment: You will need your debit card/bank details to make payment. Your application will not be complete without payment.

Acceptance of your application is at the discretion of the Committee. If your application is declined the fee will be refunded in full.
