C&G Artpartment
We (Clara & Gum), are an artist duo from Hong Kong. We focus on cultural exchange activities in East and Southeast Asia and invite artists to participate in artist-in-residence programmes at C&G Artpartment.
Our practice is both humorous and challenging.
The activities we organise are often collective and participatory in nature, with a focus on the art ecology of Hong Kong as well as current events.
We moved to the UK in 2021, continuing with our critical art practice in different places and focused on cultural exchange programmes eg the Harcourt Road Art project in collaboration with Bloc Projects in Sheffield and curating Present Tense 2023: Perilous Playground art exhibition at the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco, US.
In 2024, we re-opened C&G Artpartment studio space in Sheffield to help re-position Hong Kong art, whilst engaging in the ongoing dialogue of decoloniality that goes beyond Hong Kong.

Our studio will be open 11am – 5pm for visits on the following days:

About our studio
C&G Artpartment is a small but mighty gallery and studio space, also offering accommodations for resident artists.
