Ecostitchers
Ecostitchers are a group of mixed media textile artists who met while studying C&G Embroidery in Sheffield.
As a group we decide on a new theme or title each year to work towards and then use this to produce work in our own, unique styles, from quilting, felting, applique, paint with stitch, hand and machine embroidery. This year we are exploring ‘Changing Landscapes’, creating a range of textile art pieces in response to this brief.
We try to practice sustainably, using materials we already have, dying our own fabrics and threads and sharing resources within our group while exploring topics centred around climate change.
We all work from our own home studios but come together regularly to share work and ideas, have group workshops and to get valuable feedback from each other.
