Hilary Marsh

I enjoy hand building pots. I use mostly stoneware clay applying slips and underglazes to decorate.

I’ve enjoyed making pots when and where I can for most of my life.

Although I’m almost completely self taught I have been lucky enough to meet people along the way who have inspired me and shown ways forward when I have needed guidance.

I had the opportunity to live in Kenya for some years and this is where I became fascinated by the overwhelming beauty of the landscape the colours sounds and light. This had an enormous influence on me.

As I’ve grown older I’ve found that I have become more spontaneous and expressive with my work; continuing to explore organic forms patterns textures and mark making.
